ATJ has new executive members

Lobsang Wangyal, former President of ATJ, congratulating Tashi Wangchuk on being elected to the new executive on 11 May. Seven new executive members unanimously elected Wangchuk as the new President on 7 June.
Election day on 11 May at Lobsang's Office in McLeod Ganj. Twenty-four members cast their votes to elect the 5th ATJ executive members.
Dhondup Tashi, a reporter from Tibet Times newspaper, was elected to the post of Vice President.
Jigme Dorjee from Chitsok Melong newspaper was elected as the Secretary; Choeney Woser, Assistant Editor of Tibet Express newspaper, is the Assistant Secretary; Dekyi Methok, an Editor of Voice of Tibet radio, is the Treasurer; Tenzin Wangyal, a reporter from Radio Free Asia, is the Accountant; and, Gurbum Gyal, reporter from Voice of Tibet radio, is the Public Relations Officer.
Twenty-four members of the Association elected the seven new executive members on 11 May 2008.
The former executive members — Lobsang Wangyal, Ling Regyal (Lungrik), Yeshe Choesang and Dukar Bum — officially handed over the charges of the Association to the new executives on 7 June. One of the former executive member — Serta Tsultrim — was not present during the handing-over due to his resignation as a member from the Association on 2 June.
The former President Lobsang Wangyal, while handing over the Presidency to Tashi Wangchuk, congratulated him and all the new executives and handed over all the records (three files, two CDs, letter pads and Id card straps).
Dukar Bum handed over the accounts with a cash balance of 25,199.00
A memorandum was also presented to the new executives to follow up on a few pending works, which included an audience with the Dalai Lama and compilation and publication of a book related to Tibetan journalism (with funds provided by KIOS, a Finnish NGO).
